Seven straight seasons with the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association regular season ending with Hope College women's tennis as the champions.
The Flying Dutch have secured the regular season MIAA title after defeating Adrian College in their final match of the 2022 season, 9-0.
The three doubles and six singles matches from the orange and blue saw nine different shutout sets.
Sophomore Annika Weeber (Rockford, Michigan / Grand Rapids Christian HS) and junior Delanie Riebschleger (Rockford, Michigan / Rockford) brought home a win in the No. 3 doubles with an 8-4 win. Senior Saydee Johns (Holland, Michigan / Holland) and freshman Miyako Coffey (Cedar Rapids, Iowa / Xavier) shutout their Adrian opponent 8-0, while senior Sydney Jackson (Fort Wayne, Indiana / Carroll) and freshman Sullivan Patel (Birmingham, Michigan / Wylie E. Groves) secured the 8-1 win to sweep the doubles matches.
Patel, Weeber and freshman Alexi Lewis (Cedar, Michigan / Saint Francis), pictured right, each had two 6-0 wins for Hope at No. 2 singles, No. 3 singles and No. 5 singles, respectively. Jackson grabbed her win for the Flying Dutch in the No. 1 singles spot in 6-0 and 6-3 sets. Johns served up a win in the No. 4 singles slot 6-4 and 6-0, and Coffey recorded 6-0 and 6-2 sets for the ninth Hope win to assist in the 28th time in Flying Dutch history that women's tennis has earned the MIAA regular season title.
Hope women's tennis finished out conference play with a perfect 8-0 record, and ended 16-7 overall.
Hope is currently ranked ninth in the Central Region by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). In singles, Jackson is regionally ranked 14th, while Patel is No. 22. Jackson and Patel are additionally ranked ninth in the Central Region's doubles rankings.
The MIAA Tournament is scheduled to begin on Thursday, May 5, with Hope earning the No. 1 seed and hosting No. 4 Saint Mary's (Ind.).
