Ana Tucker Betters Women's Outdoor Track Record in the 5,000 Meters at the Drake Relays

Hope College runner Ana Tucker eclipsed her own school record in the 5,000 meters on Thursday at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa.

The junior from Midland, Michigan (H.H. Dow HS) clocked a time of 16 minutes, 36.95 seconds and finished 11th out of 21 runners.

The field featured mostly NCAA Division I but also some of the top runners in NCAA Division II and NCAA Division III.

Tucker eclipsed her previous Hope outdoor 5,000-meter record of 16:37.99.

Tucker also owns the Flying Dutch's outdoor record for the 10,000-meters the indoor records for the mile run, 3,000 meters, and 5,000 meters.
