Hope College's Nick Hoffman has been chosen as the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.
The senior from Holland, Michigan (Holland HS) is claiming the honor for the fifth time in his career. Hoffman collected two Athlete of the Week honors during the indoor track season, and this is the first time receiving the honor in this outdoor season.
Hoffman clocked a season-best, 1,500-meter time in the 1-mile run of 3 minutes, 47.31 seconds on Thursday at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa.
The public accounting major finished eleventh out of 27 runners in the event that primarily featured NCAA Division 1 and II runners, and only two Division III runners.
Hoffman also competed at the Davenport Invitational on Saturday, where he placed fourth in the 800 meter race with a time of 1:51.59.
