Men's Golf Rises to Third-Place Finish at Carthage Fall Classic

Junior Will Robson and freshman Liam Casey both fired 2-under 69s at Randall Oaks Golf Club in West Dundee, Illinois, on Saturday to help the Hope College men's golf team excel during the final round of the Carthage College (Wisconsin) University Fall Classic.

The Flying Dutchmen moved up the standings to a third-place team total of 576 (292-284) in the 20-team event.

Robson (East Grand Rapids, Michigan / East Grand Rapids HS) tied for fifth at 2-under (71-69—140).

Casey (Northville, Michigan / Detroit Catholic Central) placed ninth at 1-under (72-69—141).

Freshman Patrick Michael (Carmel, Indiana / Carmel) also finished in the Top 20 after tying for 16th at 3-over (73-72—145).

Senior Jack Crawford (Carmel, Indiana / Carmel) chipped in a 74 after a first-round 76.

Sophomore Jack Guerrera (Northville, Michigan / Detroit Catholic Central) shot a final-round 77 after an opening-round 76.

Playing as an individual, senior Seth Almquist (Minneapolis, Minnesota / Wayzata) carded a team-low 68 during the final round.

Illinois Wesleyan University won (283-271—554). Aurora University (Ill.) was runner-up (281-286—567).

Illinois Wesleyan Quinn Clifford was tournament medalist after shooting a final-round 634 and finishing 11-under.

Hope's next event is Wednesday, Sept. 21, at 10 a.m. at the Aquinas College Invitational at Kaufman Golf Course in Wyoming, Michigan.
