Three Chosen as MIAA Athletes of the Week

Three from Hope College have been selected MIAA Athletes of the Week in their respective sports: sophomore Annie Lockett in volleyball, freshman Liam Casey in men's golf and freshman Cole Pauly in men's soccer.

It is the second MIAA weekly honor for Casey and the first for both Lockett and Pauly.

Lockett (Mason, Ohio / William Mason HS) helped the 17th-ranked Flying Dutch win two MIAA matches last week, including a five-setter against previously unbeaten Albion College on Tuesday at DeVos Fieldhouse and a three-set sweep at Kalamazoo College on Saturday.

The outside hitter totaled 40 kills, 18 digs and nine service aces during the two matches. Lockett recorded a .330 hitting percentage.

Casey (Northville, Michigan / Detroit Catholic Central) fired a 3-under-par 69 at Kaufman Golf Course in Wyoming, Michigan, on Thursday to earn medalist honors at the Aquinas College Invitational.

Casey carded five birdies during his round.

Pauly (Mundelein, Illinois / Mundelein) played an integral role in the Flying Dutchmen's two shutout wins last week.

The defender helped Hope allow three shots during a 7-0 win vs. Heidelberg University (Ohio) on Saturday and 14 shots during a 1-0 win at Carthage University (Wisconsin) on Tuesday.
