Ana Tucker Claims USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week Honor for the Fourth Time

For the fourth time, Hope College runner Ana Tucker has been selected as the United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association NCAA Division III Women's National Athlete of the Week.

The senior from Midland, Michigan (H.H. Dow HS) received the honor for the first time this season after recording an Division III-leading time in the indoor mile of 4 minutes, 56.98 seconds last weekend.

Tucker won her heat at the University of Michigan Invitational by more than two seconds while racing a group of NCAA Division I runners.

An exercise science major, Tucker posted her second national-leading time in an event this season. In December, Tucker turned in the nation's leading mark in the 3,000 meters of 9:36.11.

A week later, Tucker clocked the second-fastest run nationally in the 5,000 meters at 16:29.34.

Tucker previously claimed USTFCCCA national honors three times during the 2021 season.

National Athlete of the Week is an award selected and presented by the USTFCCCA Communications Staff at the beginning of each week to 14 collegiate cross country athletes, when applicable (male and female for each of the three NCAA divisions, the NAIA and the NJCAA).
