Women's Soccer Draws No. 2 Seed for MIAA Tournament

The Hope College women's soccer team will host the winner of the Kalamazoo College vs. Trine University quarterfinal in the MIAA Tournament next week.

The Flying Dutch drew a bye to the semifinals after earning the No. 2 seed with a 6-1-1 league record. Hope's overall record is 9-2-5.

Sixth-seeded Trine plays at third-seeded Kalamazoo on Saturday. Oct. 28, at 5 p.m. The winner advances to meet Hope on Tuesday, Oct. 31, at 5 p.m. at Van Andel Soccer Stadium.

In the other half of the bracket, fourth-seeded Adrian College hosts fifth-seeded Albion College in the other quarterfinal on Saturday, Oct. 28, at 7:30 p.m. The winner advances to play at top-seeded Calvin University in the semifinals at a time to be announced.

Semifinal winners will meet on Saturday, Nov. 4, at a time to be announced at the site of the highest remaining seed.

The MIAA Tournament champion receives the league's automatic berth to next month's NCAA Division III Championships.

Hope is seeking its fifth MIAA Tournament title. The Flying Dutch previously won the league tournament in 2021, 2017, 2016 and 2014 — all under the direction of head coach Leigh Sears.

All-time, Hope owns a 9-8 record in MIAA Tournament matches since the format debuted in 1999.
