Paige Potter, No. 10 Women's Swim/Dive Victorious at Kalamazoo Quad

Freshman Paige Potter and a split-squad Hope College women's swimming and diving team cruised to victory at the Kalamazoo College Quad on Saturday.

With Potter claiming two first-place swims, the 10th-ranked Flying Dutch accumulated a winning total of 1,011 points. Hope finished 84 points ahead of runner-up University of Chicago. DePauw (Ind.) took third with 787 points, while Kalamazoo was fourth with 375.

Potter (Lake Orion, Michigan / Lake Orion) swept the individual medley events.

In the 200 IM, Potter clocked a first-place swim of 2 minutes, 13.90 seconds. In the 400 IM, Potter won with a time of 4:47.04.

Hope placed runner-up in five events, including 2-3-4 in two of them.

In the 100 breaststroke, sophomore Madi Remenschneider (Holland, Michigan / West Ottawa) took second by clocking a time of 1:09.95. Freshman Dillon Horsley (Indianapolis, Indiana / North Central) finished third at 1:10.15. Junior Lauren Ryle (Grand Rapids, Michigan / Catholic Central) was fourth at 1:10.95.

In the 1,650 freestyle, junior Norah Martin (Middleton, Wisconsin) touched the wall in second at 18:43.93. Senior Jess Estabrook (Carmel, Indiana / Carmel) placed third at 19:07.33. Freshman Natalie Pitera (Livonia, Michigan / Stevenson) was fourth at 19:10.57.

In the 100 backstroke, freshman Emma Hartman (Mason, Ohio / Ohio) recorded a runner-up swim of 1:00.85.

In the 200 backstroke, Hartman took second at 2:11.14. Potter was fourth at 2:12.79.

In 3-meter diving, junior Abby Koops (Grand Rapids, Michigan / Forest Hills Northern) posted a runner-up total of 272.93 points.

Hope finished third in four events.

In the 500 freestyle, Martin clocked a third-place time of 5:24.91. Estabrook was fourth at 5:32.06.

In the 200 breaststroke, Horsley touched the wall in third at 2:34.28. Remenschneider was fourth at 2:34.75.

In the 200 medley relay, Hartman, Remenschneider, freshman Sydney VanLente (Ada, Michigan / Forest Hills Central) and senior Madeline Tessin (Waxhaw, N.C. / Marvin Ridge) took third at 1:52.67.

In the 400 freestyle relay, Tessin, Ryle, VanLente and freshman Madeline McGee (Ionia, Michigan / Iona) recorded a third-place time of 3:44.82.

Hope placed fourth in five events.

In the 200 butterfly, VanLente finished fourth at 2:25.23. Pitera was fifth at 2:25.83.

In the 50 freestyle, Ryle clocked a fourth-time swim of 25.39.

In the 200 freestyle relay, Tessin, VanLente, McGee and Ryle recorded a fourth-place time of 1:41.14.

In the 400 medley relay, Potter, Horsley, VanLente and Tessin placed fourth at 4:09.47.

In 1-meter diving, Koops came in fourth with 230.10 points. Junior Michaela Sander (Muskegon, Michigan / Mona Shores) was fifth with 197.33 points.

The Flying Dutch's next event is Thursday-Saturday, Nov. 9-11, at the Kenyon College (Ohio) Invitational. Kenyon is ranked No. 1 in Division III.
