Men's Track/Field Scores in Five Events At Wheaton Invitational

The Hope College men's outdoor track and field team scored in five events at the Wheaton College (Ill.) Invitational this weekend.

The Flying Dutchmen finished in the top five in the 110- and 400-meter hurdles, javelin, 4x400 relay and triple jump.

In the 110 hurdles, senior Jackson Player (San Antonio, Texas, Winston Churchill HS) placed runner-up by clocking a time of 15.27 seconds.

In the javelin, Aidan Kyle (Weston, Connecticut / Weston) took third with a season-best throw of 48.00 meters (157 feet, 6 inches).

In the 4x400 relay, Hope recorded the third-fastest time as sophomore David McNiff (Norton Shores, Michigan / Mona Shores), sophomore Alex Daniels (Holland, Michigan / Holland), freshman Liam Danitz (Ogemaw Heights, Michigan / West Branch) and sophomore Joshua Ennen (Zeeland, Michigan / Zeeland West) went 3:25.82.

In the triple jump, senior Nathan Woolum (Mattawan, Michigan / Mattawan) posted a fifth-place and season-best leap of 12.77 meters (41-10 ¾).

In the 400 hurdles, Woolum clocked a fifth-place run of 58.45.

The Flying Dutchmen finished ninth out of 12 teams with 18 points.

Hope also competed at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville Invitational on Friday.

In the 800 meters, junior Eli Meder (Williamston, Michigan / Lansing Catholic) took third with a time of 1:52.04. Sophomore Lucas Guidone (Chicago, Illinois / Taft) was seventh at 1:53.89.

Hope's next meet is Friday-Saturday, April 21-22, at Grand Valley State University.
