Men's Track/Field Posts Three Season-Best Times At St. Francis (Ill.)

Two Hope College men's runners clocked season-best times and another runner finished first in an event for the Flying Dutchmen at the University of St. Francis (Ill.) Fighting Chance Invite this weekend in Joliet, Illinois.

In the 100 meters, freshman Liam Danitz (West Branch, Michigan / Ogemaw Heights HS) recorded the team's fastest time with a fourth-place run of 10.79 seconds at the non-scoring meet.

In the 1,500 meters, sophomore Connor Vachon (Jenison, Michigan / Jenison) posted the team's top run of the season with an 11th-place time of 3:52.41.

In the 800 meters, junior Eli Meder (Williamston, Michigan / Lansing Catholic) raced to a winning time of 1:52.31. 

Meder was just 0.27 off his best run of the season. 

The Flying Dutchmen placed in the Top 10 in three more events.

In the 400-meter hurdles, senior Nathan Woolum (Mattawan, Michigan / Mattawan) finished fifth with a time of 56.48 seconds.

In the 4x100 relay, sophomore Alex Daniels (Holland, Michigan / Holland), freshman Nolan Sanders (Midland, Michigan / H.H. Dow), sophomore David McNiff (Norton Shores, Michigan / Mona Shores) and Danitz recorded an eighth-place run of 42.20.

Danitz placed 19th in the 200 meters by clocking a time of 21.62 seconds.
 
Hope's next meet is the Augustana College (Ill.) Midwest Twilight on Thursday, May 18.
