The Hope College women's track and field team didn't wait very long to set the school record in the 4x400-meter relay again.

Six days after breaking a school record that stood for 10 years, the Flying Dutch went even faster on Thursday at the Augustana College (Ill.) Midnight Twilight.

Senior Julie Timperman (Lafayette, Indiana / Faith Christian HS), freshman Sara Schermerhorn (Traverse City, Michigan / Traverse City West), junior Erin Moran (Arlington Heights, Illinois / John Hersey) and senior Grace Behrens (Granger, Indiana / Trinity School at Greenlawn) clocked a fifth-place run of 3 minutes, 49.54 seconds.

Entering the last-chance meet, 3:49.54 would have put Hope 12th in NCAA Division III.

Hope also finished fifth in the 1,500 meters.

Senior Ellie Jankowski (Granger, Indiana / Penn) posted a time of 4:35.0 — her fastest run of the season.

In the 400 meters, Schermerhorn placed 16th at 1:01.99.

The meet was the final last-chance one for the Flying Dutch.

The field for the 2023 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be announced on Friday, May 19, at 8 p.m. on ncaa.com.
