Five runners from the Hope College women's outdoor track and field team have been selected to the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Great Lakes Region Team for the 2023 season: seniors Grace Behrens, Julie Timperman and Ana Tucker, junior Erin Moran and freshman Sara Schermerhorn.

Top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned all-region honors, in addition to each of the members of a top-3 ranked relay team.

Tucker (Midland, Michigan / H.H. Dow HS) is an all-region recipient in three events: the 1,500 meters, 5,000 meters and 10,000 meters.

The exercise science major recorded qualifying times in the 1,500 meters with a run of 4:25.22 at Grand Valley State University on April 21, in the 5,000 meters with a time of 16:10.91 at the Drake Relays on April 26, and in the 10,000 meters with a run of 34:24.97 at the Raleigh Relays on March 23.

Tucker has seven all-region honors this season, including four during the indoor season in the 1-mile, 3,000 meters, 5,000 meters and the distance medley relay.

Schermerhorn (Traverse City, Michigan / Traverse City West) is all-region in the 200 meters and the 4x400 relay.

Schermerhorn clocked a qualifying time in the 200 meters of 24.56 seconds at Davenport University on April 28 and helped the 4x400 relay clock a qualifying time of 3:49.54.

Schermerhorn has earned all-region five times this season, including three during the indoor season: 60 meters, 200 metes and 4x400 relay.

Behrens (Mishawaka, Indiana / Trinity School at Greenlawn), Moran (Arlington Heights, Illinois  John Hersey) and Timperman (Lafayette, Indiana / Faith Christian) earned their all-region distinction in the 4x400 relay.

This is the third all-region award of the year for Behrens. The environmental science major was also all-region during the indoor season in the 4x400 relay and the distance medley relay.

Moran, who majors in psychology and social studies education, and Timperman, a computer engineering major, both claimed all-region honors during the indoor season in the 4x400 relay.
