Three Make All-MIAA Men's Outdoor Track and Field Team

Three members of the Hope College men's outdoor track and field team have claimed All-MIAA honors for the 2023 season.

Junior Eli Meder, sophomore Lucas Guidone and sophomore Aidan Kyle all earned the distinction by winning events during last week's MIAA Championships at Olivet College and helping the Flying Dutch finish runner-up in the team standings.

Kyle (Weston, Connecticut / Weston HS) is All-MIAA for the second consecutive outdoor season.

The sophomore went back-to-back as league javelin champion by hurling a winning toss of 53.05 meters (174 feet even) on his final attempt.

The communication major joined Andrew Denninger (2007-08) and Bill Mauren (1981-82) as Hope's repeat champions in the event.

Meder (Williamston, Michigan / Lansing Catholic) earned All-MIAA outdoor honors for the second consecutive season.

The senior business and economics major won the 1,500 meters and led a 1-2 Hope finish at the MIAA Championships with a time of 3 minutes, 58.94 seconds.

Guidone (Chicago, Illinois / Taft) claimed his first All-MIAA outdoor award. The sophomore clocked a first-place time in the 800 meters of 1:55.73 at the league meet and led a 1-2 Flying Dutchmen finish.
