It was a record-setting Friday afternoon for the Hope College men's indoor track and field team.
The Flying Dutchmen set three school records at Grand Valley State University's Bill Clinger Classic and raised their record-setting marks to five for the season.
Hope established new top marks in the:
Â
- 3,000 meters, Connor Vachon, 8:25.82;
- 200 meters, Liam Danitz, 22.56;
- 4x400 relay, Alex Daniels, Joshua Ennen, Liam Danitz, Nathan Woolum, 3:24.70.
All times are converted for the record book and NCAA Championships qualifying because of GVSU's oversized track.
The 4x400 relay of Daniels (Holland, Michigan / Holland HS), Ennen (Zeeland, Michigan / Zeeland West), Danitz (West Branch, Michigan / Ogemaw Heights) and Woolum (Mattawan, Michigan / Mattawan) finished second.
The relay passed the 2018 Hope record held by Terrell Solberg, Brandon Wolliston, Eddie Ip and Matt Ruff.
Danitz placed third in the 200 meters and set a school record for the third consecutive meet.
Vachon (Jenison, Michigan / Jenison) took fourth and passed Nick Hoffman's 2021 Hope record run of 8:31.93.
