Men's Golf Ties for Third at Final Fall MIAA Event, Maintains Overall Lead

The Hope College men's golf team will hold a 10-stroke lead in the MIAA seasonal standings heading into the final two rounds next spring.

The Flying Dutch wrapped up the first 72 holes this fall by shooting a 303 on Saturday at Tecumseh Country Club and tying for third place with Adrian College.

Hope's total after four rounds is 1,161. Trine University is in second place, 10 strokes back, after carding a second-place 301 on Saturday.

Calvin University, which took first with a 293 at Tecumseh Country Club, is 19 strokes behind the Flying Dutchmen.

The MIAA Spring Finale is scheduled for Wednesday-Thursday, May 7-8, hosted by Trine at Bella Vista Golf Course in Coldwater, Michigan.

On Saturday, senior Will Webb (Lake Forest, Illinois / Lake Forest HS) claimed medalist honors by firing a 2-under-par 70.

Webb rode a string of four consecutive birdies, beginning with the 502-yard, par-5 14th hole and ending with the 397-yard, par-4 17th.

Webb moved into first place for the individual seasonal standings.

Junior Klay Redman (Dublin, Ohio / Dublin Coffman) tied for seventh with a 74.

Junior Patrick Michael (Carmel, Indiana / Carmel) chipped in a 77.

Sophomore Hank Roebuck (Ann Arbor, Michigan / Skyline) and freshman Will Thomas (Portage, Michigan / Portage Central) recorded 78s.

Junior Liam Casey (Northville, Michigan / Detroit Catholic Central) had a 79.
