Men's Golf Drives into Third Place on the Opening Day of the Wabash Invitational

The Liam Casey-led Hope College men's golf team heads into the final day of 54-hole, 15-team Wabash College Invitational in third place.

The Flying Dutchmen fired rounds of 300 and 295 at Broadmoor Country Club on Monday to finish the day at 19-over-par.

Fifth-ranked Illinois Wesleyan went 282 and 287 for 7-under. The Titans 'B' team is 19 strokes back in second place after rounds of 299 and 289.

The final round tees off on Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 9 a.m.

Casey (Northville, Michigan / Detroit Catholic Central HS) is in third place at 1-under after carding rounds of 71 and 72 on the 6,904-yard course.

Casey trails Aidan Healy of Illinois Wesleyan by four strokes and Griffin Pohl of Illinois Wesleyan by three.

Junior Patrick Michael (Carmel, Indiana / Carmel) is tied for 16th following rounds of 78 and 71.

Senior Will Webb (Lake Forest, Illinois / Lake Forest) chipped in a 78 and 74 for the Flying Dutchmen.

Sophomore Hank Roebuck (Ann Arbor, Michigan / Skyline) posted rounds of 74 and 78.

Freshman Will Thomas (Portage, Michigan / Portage Central) added rounds of 78 and 79.
