Men's Golfer Liam Casey Shoots 1-Over-Par, Ties for Third at 54-Hole Wabash Invitational

Hope College junior Liam Casey tied for third in a field of 84 golfers at the 54-hole, two-day Wabash College Invitational that concluded on Tuesday in Indianapolis.

Casey (Northville, Michigan / Detroit Catholic Central HS) fired a 2-over-par 74 at Broadmoor Country Club to finish the tournament at 1-over (217).

Casey was one of five golfers to earn all-tournament honors.

Hope took fifth at the 15-team event with a total of 900, including a final-round 305.

Fifth-ranked Illinois Wesleyan grabbed the top two team finishes with totals of 854 and 876. 

The Titans' Griffin Pohl was the tournament medalist at 7-under (209). Pohl finished three strokes ahead of teammate Aidan Healey, who took second.

Millikin University (Illinois) shot 7-over during the final round to move into third place at 33-over-par. Rhodes College (Tennessee) finished one stroke ahead of Hope in fourth place.

The Flying Dutchmen received final-round scores of 76 from junior Patrick Michael (Carmel, Indiana / Carmel), 77 from freshman Will Thomas (Portage, Michigan / Portage Central), 78 from sophomore Hank Roebuck (Ann Arbor, Michigan / Skyline), and 85 from senior Will Webb (Lake Forest, Illinois / Lake Forest).

Hope is scheduled to conclude the fall season on Saturday, Oct. 12, at 1 p.m. at the MIAA Jamboree hosted by Trine University at Zollner Golf Course.
