Men's Soccer Claims 15th NCAA Division III Tournament Appearance

Hope faces a rematch with DePauw in the first round

The MIAA co-champion and 16th-ranked Hope College men's soccer team will face a familiar opponent to kick off the NCAA Division III Tournament this week.

The Flying Dutchmen, who received an at-large berth, will face DePauw University (Indiana) in the first round on Friday, Nov. 15, at 3:30 p.m. Central at The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

Hope and DePauw played to a 2-2 tie on Sept. 25 at Van Andel Soccer Stadium. Junior Seth Wolters (St. Joseph, Michigan / St. Joseph HS) scored twice against the Tigers.

This is Hope's 15th postseason appearance and first since 2019. The Flying Dutchmen enter with a 13-2-3 record.

DePauw (10-4-6) is making its third trip to the NCAA Tournament. The Tigers claimed the North Coast Athletic Conference's bid on Sunday by tying 10th-ranked Denison University (Ohio) and outscoring the Big Red, 4-1, in penalty kicks.

The Flying Dutchmen have never faced DePauw in the NCAA Tournament. Hope trails the all-time series, 3-5-3.

The Hope-DePauw winner advances to a second-round game on Saturday, Nov. 16, at 1 p.m. Central.

Friday's other first-round game at Simpson Field pits, at 1 p.m. Central, seventh-ranked Eau Claire (15-1-4) from the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference against Lake Forest College, Illinois (10-7-3) from the Midwest Conference.

There will be no advanced ticket sales. There will be cash sales only this weekend.

Daily tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for senior citizens, $5 for college students and youth.
One ticket will grant admission to both first-round games on Friday.
