Six Receive All-MIAA Accolades in Women's Soccer

Six members of the Hope College women's soccer team received All-MIAA honors for the 2024 season, with freshman Mia Hesley receiving additional recognition as the league's first-ever Women's Soccer Newcomer of the Year.

Junior Ainsley Harris and senior Carley Wagasky were named to the All-MIAA First Team.  Junior Liz Bellinger, junior Olivia Dieppa, junior Grace Fowler and Hesley were named to the All-MIAA Second Team.


The All-MIAA awards are voted on at the conclusion of the regular season by the head coaches from the nine MIAA institutions that sponsor women's soccer.  The Flying Dutch concluded the regular season second in the MIAA standings with a league record of 6-1-1 and with an overall record of 11-3-2.


Hesley (Portage, Michigan / Portage Central HS) is a defender.  In recognizing her for the newcomer award, the MIAA noted that she played in all eight league contests while starting in seven of them, and also helped limit the eight opponents to a combined total of only five goals total against the Flying Dutch during the regular season.


Harris (Zeeland, Michigan / Holland Christian), a forward, both scored four goals and had four assists against league opponents.  The physical and health education and secondary education major received All-MIAA recognition for the second time in her career.


Wagasky (Grand Haven, Michigan / Grand Haven), a team co-captain and forward, had three goals against league opponents.  The chemistry major claimed All-MIAA honors for the second year.


Bellinger (Williamston, Michigan / Williamston), a midfielder, scored two goals against league opponents.  A physical education and health major, she received All-MIAA recognition for the first time.


Dieppa (Hudsonville, Michigan / Hudsonville), a defender, helped limit the eight MIAA opponents to a combined total of only five goals against the Flying Dutch, and also scored two goals and had an assist against league schools.  An exercise science major, she received All-MIAA recognition for the second time.


Fowler (Cumming, Georgia / Pinecrest Academy) received All-MIAA recognition for the first time in her career.  A defender, she helped limit the eight MIAA opponents to a combined total of only five goals against the Flying Dutch during the regular season, also providing an assist.
