Women's Swim Qualifies for Day 2 Finals in Three Events at NCAA Championships

Hope College advanced to the Day 2 finals in three women's events at the NCAA Division III Championships on Thursday in Greensboro, N.C.: the 100-yard butterfly, the 200 freestyle relay and the 400 medley relay.

In the 400 medley relay, Hope will compete in the consolation final.

Junior Sara Kraus (Rockford, Michigan / Rockford HS), junior Lauren Ryle (Grand Rapids, Michigan / Catholic Central), junior Greta Gidley (Franklin, Michigan / Mercy) and senior Delaney Wesolek (Bay City, Michigan / John Glenn) clocked an 11th-place time during prelims of 3:47.33.

In the 200 freestyle relay, Hope will race in the consolation final.

Gidley, Ryle, Kraus and Wesolek finished 14th during prelims with a swim of 1:35.07.

In the 100 butterfly, Gidley will swim in the consolation final after placing 14th during prelims with a swim of 55.37.

In the 200 freestyle, sophomore Bella Turner (Chelsea, Michigan / Chelsea) took 55th during prelims with a season-best swim of 1:56.96.

Tonight's finals begin at 6 p.m. and can be seen on ncaa.com.
