Men's Golf Places 13th at 54-Hole Garn Championship at Keene Trace Golf Club

Sophomore Liam Casey carded back-to-back rounds of 5-over 77 at Keene Trace Golf Club to lead the Hope College men's golf team at the 54-hole, two-day Garn Championship in Nicholasville, Kentucky.

Casey (Northville, Michigan / Detroit Catholic Central HS) finished 18th at plus-21 for the 22-team, 116-golf tournament that concluded on Tuesday with the final 18 holes.

Hope placed 13th after rounds of 326, 330 and 320. It was the first event of the spring season for the Flying Dutchmen.

Campbellsville University (Ky.), ranked No. 13 in NAIA, topped the field at plus-60. Campbellsville's Kevin Latchayya earned medalist honors at 2-over.

Casey carded rounds of 83, 77 and 77.

Junior Will Webb (Lake Forest, Illinois / Lake Forest) finished six strokes behind Casey with rounds of 84, 79 and 80.

Senior Logan DeWitt (Zeeland, Michigan / Holland Christian) placed one stroke behind Webb by shooting rounds of 81, 84 and 79.

Junior Will Robson (Grand Rapids, Michigan / East Grand Rapids) chipped in rounds of 81, 92 and 83.

Freshman Hank Roebuck (Ann Arbor, Michigan / Skyline) carded rounds of 81, 90 and 90.

Sophomore Patrick Michael (Carmel, Indiana / Carmel) played in two rounds and shot 76 and 80.

Hope next competes on Friday-Saturday, April 5-6, at the Illinois Wesleyan University Invitational.
