The Hope College women's golf team concluded the season after finishing in a tie for third place in the 36-hole MIAA Spring Finish on Tuesday.Â
The Flying Dutch shot a final-round team score of 340 at Gull Lake View Golf Course in Augusta, Michigan, matching Calvin University's total of 674.
Adrian College held onto its lead from Round 1 to finish as champions with an overall score of 657, while Saint Mary's College was runner-up, 10 strokes ahead of Hope.
The Flying Dutch finished fourth in the seasonal standings. Saint Mary's took first and earned the MIAA's automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Championships.
Five Hope golfers finished among the top 30 golfers in a field of 48.Â
Senior Abby Fansler (Muskegon, Michigan / Reeths-Puffer HS) finished in a three-way tie for first place and competed in playoff for season-medalist honors.Â
Fansler shot an 80 in round two to tie for second place overall with golfers from Alma College and Adrian College. Fansler finished just six strokes behind overall individual winner Grace Dubec from Trine University.Â
Fansler earned All-MIAAÂ First Team honors with her second-place finish.Â
Sophomore Caydee Constant (Grand Haven, Michigan / Grand Haven) shot an 84 for Hope on day two.Â
Freshman Rachael Jones (Grove City, Ohio / Grove City) tied for 14th place overall after shooting an 85.Â
Freshman Jaiden Winters (New Carlisle, Indiana / New Carlisle) finished with an 86.Â
Sophomore Sara Muir (Ada, Michigan / Grand Rapids Christian) carded an 89.Â
Freshman Allyson Zuidema (Northville, Michigan / Northville) chipped in a round-two score of 91.Â
