Pole Vaulter Kiel Reister Ties for Second at GVSU Early Meet

Hope College pole vaulter Kiel Reister tied for second place on Friday at the Grand Valley State University Early Meet.

The freshman from Hamilton, Michigan (Hamilton HS) cleared 3.55 meters (11 feet, 7 3/4 inches) to match Calvin University's Will Goodpaster.

The two-day meet concludes on Saturday, April 6. Competition begins at 11 a.m.

In the triple jump, senior Nathan Woolum (Mattawan, Michigan / Mattawan) finished third in the triple jump after a leap of 12.87 meters (42-2 5/8).

In the javelin, freshman Matthew Bir (Wenatchee, Washington / River Academy) recorded a third-place toss of 46.11 meters (151-3 5/8). 

Sophomore Wil Pinkerton (Ann Arbor, Michigan / Pioneer) took seventh with a throw of 43.71 meters (143-4 7/8).

In the hammer throw, sophomore Brendyn Mroz (Grand Rapids, Michigan / Grandville) placed 10th after a heave of 40.59 meters (133-2).
