The 11th-ranked Hope College women's swimming and diving team recorded multiple fastest swims in five events en route to a first-place performance against host Wheaton College (Illinois) and Kalamazoo College on Saturday.
The Flying Dutch finished with 577 points. Wheaton placed second with 304 points, 27 more than Kalamazoo.
It was Hope's first meet since Nov. 21-23 at Kenyon College (Ohio).
In the 200 breaststroke, senior Sara Kraus (Rockford, Michigan / Rockford HS) led a 1-2-3-4 finish by touching the wall at 2 minutes. 26.8 seconds.Â
Sophomore Dillon Horsley (Indianapolis, Indiana / North Central) took second at 2:25.50 and matched her season-best swim. Senior
Grace Wesley (Grosse Pointe Shores, Michigan / Grosse Pointe North) placed third at 2:43.19. Junior
Ashlea Swingewood (Carmel, Indiana / Carmel) was fourth at 2:41.84.
In the 400 freestyle relay, the Flying Dutch closed the meet by going 1-2-3 in the 400 freestyle relay. The first two relays scored.

In the 400 medley relay, Hope opened the meet by going 1-2.
Kraus, Gidley, Wasiniak and Ryle posted a winning swim of 3:56.58.
Potter, sophomore Madi Remenschneider (Holland, Michigan / West Ottawa), freshman Megan Wedeking (Lexington, Kentucky / Lexington Senior) and Ryden touched the wall second at 4:08.59.
In the 200 butterfly, Hope recorded the top two swims: Swingewood in first at 2:12.32 and Wedeking in second at 2:20.32.
In the 500 freestyle, the Flying Dutch finished 1-2: Potter in first at 5:29.11 and Remenschneider in second at 5:44.19.
In sprint freestyle events, Turner took first in both the 100 freestyle at 52.87 and the 200 freestyle at 1:57.92.
In the 50 free, Ryle clocked a winning time of 25.00.
In the 200 backstroke, Gidley placed first at a season-best 2:05.35.
In the 1,000 freestyle, Martin won in 11:10.25.
Hope finished second in two more events: Kraus in the 200 IM at 2:11.96 and senior Molly Leonard (Grand Rapids, Michigan / Catholic Central) in 3-meter diving with 221.76 points.
The Flying Dutch's next meet is Friday, Jan. 24, at 5:30 p.m. vs. Davenport University at the Holland Aquatic Center.
