Two Volleyball Teammates Named to Academic All-America® Teams

Hope College outside hitter Addie VanderWeide and junior setter Lauren Lee have been selected for the 2024 Academic All-America® women's volleyball teams selected by the College Sports Communicators.

VanderWeide (Grand Rapids, Michigan / Grand Rapids Christian HS) earned her second Academic All-America® honor as one of seven first-team recipients in NCAA Division III. The business major was a third-team selection in 2023.

Lee, a biology major from Plymouth, Michigan (Saline), is a first-time honoree as one of eight second-team selections.

Twenty-one Division III women's standouts received Academic All-America® distinction this season.

On the court, VanderWeide and Lee helped the Flying Dutch reach the NCAA Division III national semifinals for the second consecutive season and repeat as both MIAA regular-season and tournament champions for the first time in program history.

The 6-1 VanderWeide also repeated this season as an AVCA All-America First Team selection, AVCA Region 7 Player of the Year, MIAA Most Valuable Player and as All-MIAA First Team selection.

VanderWeide, a full-rotation player, topped in points (4.0 per set) and kills (3.53) this season.

The 5-7 Lee received AVCA All-America First Team, AVCA All-Region First Team and All-MIAA First Team recognition this season.

Lee averaged a team-best 11.30 assists per set and is three assists from 4,000 for her career.
