Volleyball Places Four on Academic All-District Teams

Four members of the national semifinalist and MIAA-champion Hope College volleyball team have received Academic All-District honors from the College Sports Communicators: middle hitter Alison DeWeerd, setter Lauren Lee, libero Samantha Seib and outside hitter Addie VanderWeide.

DeWeerd (Kentwood, Michigan / South Christian HS) is a social work major. This is her second Academic All-District accolade.

On the court, the senior claimed American Volleyball Coaches Association Honorable Mention All-America, AVCA All-Region First Team and All-MIAA First Team honors.

Lee (Plymouth, Michigan / Skyline) is a biology major.

The junior also received AVCA All-America First Team, AVCA All-Region First Team and All-MIAA First Team recognition.

Seib (Elkhorn, Wisconsin / Catholic Central) is a biology major who achieved All-MIAA First Team distinction this season.

VanderWeide (Grand Rapids, Michigan / Grand Rapids Christian) is a business major.

The senior repeated this season as an AVCA All-America First Team selection, AVCA Region 7 Player of the Year, MIAA Most Valuable Player and All-MIAA First Team.
