Chad Perrine and Luke Skuratowicz Lead Men's Cross Country at Jayhawk Invitational

Three Hope College men's cross country runners finished in the Top 30 of the 167-runner field at the Muskegon Community College Jayhawk Invitational on Saturday.

Senior Chad Perrine (Jackson, Michigan / Jackson) topped the Flying Dutchmen with a 25th-place, 8K time of 26 minutes, 12.47 seconds, which was a personal record.

Junior Luke Skuratowicz (Kalamazoo, Michigan / Kalamazoo Central) immediately followed Perrine, taking 26th with a PR 26:14.05.

Sophomore Joe Waalkes (Grand Rapids, Michigan / Grand Rapids Christian) finished 29th with a PR of 26:16.44.

The Flying Dutchmen scored 137 points to place fifth at the 16-team event held at the MCC Golf Course.

NCAA Division II's Grand Valley State University won the meet with 30 points, edging Lansing Community College on the sixth-runner tiebreaker. GVSU's Will Engbers clocked the fastest run at 25:13.06.

Junior Carter Dean (Traverse City, Michigan / Traverse City West) placed 40th with a season-best 26:39.97.

Freshman Eli Johansen (St. Joseph, Michigan / St. Joseph) took 44th with a PR 26:43.30.

Senior Andrew Tilly (Lemont, Illinois / Lemont Township) finished 51st with a PR 26:52.76.

Junior Ethan Grevengoed (Spring Lake, Michigan / Spring Lake) rounded up Hope's top seven in 63rd with a PR 27:11.71.

The Flying Dutchmen's next meet is Saturday, Oct. 18, at 10 a.m. Central at the Augustana College Inter-Regional Invitational at Saukie Golf Course in Rock Island, Illinois.
