Men's Golf Completes Fall MIAA Season

The Hope College men's golf team shot a third-place 302 at Watermark Country Club in Grand Rapids during the final fall round of the MIAA season on Monday.

Sophomore Will Thomas (Portage, Michigan / Portage Central) fired a 2-over-par 74 to lead the Flying Dutchmen and finished sixth.

Hope maintained third place in the seasonal standings with 36 holes remaining next spring.

With a 300 average, the Flying Dutchmen are 14 strokes behind first-place Trine University and 12 strokes behind second-place Calvin University.

Hope finished five strokes behind first-place Calvin on Monday and three behind second-place Trine. Trine's Jack Beaner was the tournament medalist after a 71.

Senior Liam Casey (Northville, Michigan / Detroit Catholic Central) tied for seventh after carding a 75.

Senior Klay Redman (Dublin, Ohio / Dublin Coffman) placed one stroke behind Casey, tied for 15th.

Freshman Joey Blondia (Richland, Michigan / Gull Lake) chipped in a 77 and tied for 19th.

Freshman Kody Vis (Spring Lake, Michigan / Spring Lake) shot 83.

Junior Hank Roebuck (Ann Arbor, Michigan / Skyline) had an 89.
