In a meet stacked with top-tier competition, the Hope College men's cross country team held its own at the Calvin University Knight Invitational on Saturday.
With many of their top runners not competing after running on Friday in Wisconsin, the Flying Dutchmen placed fifth out of 10 teams with a team score of 163 points. Division II Grand Valley State University topped the field, Milwaukee School of Engineering earned second, and Calvin University came in third place.
Senior Andrew Tilly (Lemont, Illinois / Lemont Township HS) led Hope's effort with a 44th-place finish in 27:53.6.
Freshman Lincoln Bosh (Tacoma, Washington / Curtis Senior) took 50th at 28:06.2) and was followed closely by Jack Leyden in 53rd at 28:09.9, freshman Owen Read (Traverse City, Michigan / St. Francis) in 57th at 28:20.0), sophomore Kenny Evans (Corunna, Michigan / Corunna) in 58th at 28:23.3, freshman Matt Long (Otsego, Michigan / Otsego) in 65th at 28:42.2, and senior Arman Khaledan (River Forest, Illinois / Oak Park River Forest) in 71st at 28:58.6).
