Volleyball Moves Up to 12th in AVCA Rankings

The Hope College volleyball team rose again this week in the American Volleyball Coaches Association NCAA Division III poll.

The 13-4 Flying Dutch moved up one spot to 12th, totaling 1,191 points after defeating Calvin University and Saint Mary's College in three sets last week in MIAA play.

The University of La Verne (California) tops the poll with 2,146 points and 82 of 86 possible first-place votes.

Hope's next match is Wednesday, Oct. 8, at 6:30 p.m. at Adrian College.

The Flying Dutch return to play at DeVos Fieldhouse on Friday-Saturday, Oct. 11, hosting a four-team tournament.

Hope faces Millikin University (Illinois) on Friday at 6:30 p.m., then on Saturday plays at Coe College (Iowa) at 11 a.m. and eighth-ranked University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire at 1:30 p.m.
