Lauren Lee set the table this fall for the MIAA-champion Hope College volleyball team.
A setter, Lee spearheaded the Flying Dutch's run to an 8-0 league record and a third consecutive outright MIAA regular-season championship. The Plymouth, Michigan, native (Skyline HS) also earned MIAA Most Valuable Player honors from the league's coaches, headlining a 16-member All-MIAA team that includes first-team selections
Kamryn Burbridge and
Olivia Wyma and second-team honoree
Kathryn Oates.
It marks the 10th time a Hope volleyball player has been named MIAA MVP and the fourth time in the past five seasons.
Lee led the MIAA in assists with 11.30 per set, distributing the ball to five different attackers who averaged more than two kills per set. The Flying Dutch finished with a league-best .250 team hitting percentage. The chemistry major capped her MIAA career as a four-time All-MIAA First Team selection. In 2022, she was named MIAA Freshman of the Year.
Burbridge (Grand Haven, Michigan / Grand Haven) collected her third All-MIAA honor after earning second-team recognition in 2024 and 2023. The junior middle blocker and exercise science major finished second on the team in kills and blocks with averages of 2.58 and 0.92, respectively, over 25 sets against MIAA opponents. She also recorded an MIAA-best .455 hitting percentage over eight league matches.
Wyma (Hartland, Wisconsin / Arrowhead) earned her first All-MIAA honor as a middle blocker for the Flying Dutch. The sophomore led Hope in kills, including 3.35 per set over 26 sets played during the MIAA regular season. Wyma also topped the Flying Dutch in blocks in all matches with a 1.03 average.
Oates (Liberty Township, Ohio / Cincinnati Christian) received All-MIAA recognition for the first time. The junior defensive specialist and exercise science major leads the Flying Dutch in digs, including a 4.95-per-set average during 20 sets of MIAA play.
