The Hope College men's cross-country team galloped to another historic run Saturday in Louisville, Kentucky.
The 16th-ranked Flying Dutchmen dominated the field at the 37-team NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional, running away with the second regional title in program history and their first since 1980.
Led by seven all-region performances, the Flying Dutchmen totaled 53 points and clinched a berth in next week's NCAA Division III Championships by finishing 41 points ahead of runner-up Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
Two weeks ago, the Orange and Blue claimed their first MIAA title since 1986.
"It means quite a lot to be able to achieve this," head coach
Mark Northuis said. Northuis ran on Hope's last regional championship team. "It's something our runners have worked extremely hard for. We're grateful for everyone who came before and helped push us to where we are."
Hope clocked seven of the fastest 18 times on the 8K course at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park, earning multiple all-region accolades with top-30 finishes.

Logan Begeman (Portage, Michigan / Portage Central) led a trio of top-10 Flying Dutchmen.
