No. 11 Men's Swim/Dive Clocks Several Top 10 All-Time Swims during Final Day at Kenyon

The 11th-ranked Hope College men's swimming and diving team wrapped up the first half of its 2025-26 campaign on Saturday at the Total Performance Invitational at Kenyon College.

The Flying Dutchmen saw several top 10 swims and season-best times on the final day of competition. This is the fifth consecutive year that Hope has traveled to Gambier, Ohio, for the mid-season meet, where all the teams suit up and typically see the fastest times of the first half of the season.

"The guys came and raced this weekend," head Coach Jake Taber '04 said. "They were excited to get here, and they've put in a lot of work this fall."

Taber said the weekend meet gave the team a good chance to come together against national competition.

"This was our first big team travel meet, and they wanted to see how they stacked up with a little bit of rest," he said. "They had fun and celebrated each other's swims, which is a mark of a close-knit team. Each of the guys down here are better because of the environment. We are coming out of it stronger and excited for what's to come in February."

Junior Graham Eisenmann (Ozark, Missouri / Ozark) was the Dutchmen's top finisher on the final day of competition, tying for fifth place in the A final of the 100 freestyle. Eisenmann tied a personal best, clocking a 44.98. His time is the fourth-fastest in Hope history, and he is one of only four swimmers in the history of the program to crack the 45 second barrier.

Sophomore Everett Cox (Sugar Land, Texas / Logos Prep) won the B final of the 100 free with a personal-best time of 45.49, a mark that ranks ninth in school history. Freshman Nolan Smith (Buffalo Grove, Illinois / Buffalo Grove) also cracked the top 10 of the 100 free, posting a 45.53 during the morning preliminaries. Smith's time ranks 10
th overall.

In the 200 backstroke, junior Josh Bordovsky (Herndon, Virginia / South Lakes) placed sixth overall. In his morning swim, Bordovsky posted a season-best time of 1:49.83 to become the third Hope swimmer in program history to go under 1:50 in the event.

Sophomore Luke Wyrick (Glen Ellyn, Illinois / Glenbard West) led a trio of Hope finishers in the B final of the 200 breaststroke, placing seventh. Wyrick's time of 2:05.29 was a season best and ranks eighth in school history.

Nick Suranyi was Hope's top finisher in the 200 butterfly, finishing third in the B final with a season-best mark of 1:52.49.

Sophomore Tyler Houpt (Mason, Ohio / William Mason) led Hope's contingent in the 1650 freestyle, placing 20
th with a time of 16:34.01.

In the final event of the weekend, the team of Bordovsky, Eisenmann, Cox and Smith placed fifth in the 400 freestyle relay. The squad combined for a season-best time of 3:01.00.

The Flying Dutchmen finished fifth overall in their mid-season meet, scoring 861.5 points. Host and No. 5 Kenyon took first place, while No. 4 Carnegie Mellon was second.

Hope swimmers will take a break from competition until January 17, when the Flying Dutchmen travel to Kalamazoo College for the Michigan-Illinois Quad meet.
