Box Score The 35th-ranked Hope College women's tennis team started a weekend in Chicago with a 7-0 victory at Lake Forest College (Illinois) on Friday.
The Flying Dutch improved their record to 3-1 overall.
Hope opened the match by earning the doubles point by winning two of three doubles flights.
At No. 3 doubles, junior Mallory Matthews (Midland, Michigan / H.H. Dow HS) and sophomore
Madison Wei (Parker, Colorado / Regis Jesuit) defeated Kate Feist and Emily Bross, 6-1.
At No. 2 doubles, senior Miyako Coffey (Cedar Rapids, Iowa / Xavier) and freshman
Hadley Krygier (White Lake, Michigan / Walled Lake Northern) topped Margart Bugnackia and Sara Lopez, 6-1.
At No. 1 doubles, senior Sullivan Moran (Birmingham, Michigan / Wylie E. Groves) and sophomore
Amanda Lopykinski (Lemont, Illinois / Lemont Township) lost to Sophia Strupovets and Lilli Dockal, 7-5.
The Flying Dutch took all six singles flights, including two three-set matches.
At No. 1 singles, Lopykinski downed Strupovets, 0-6, 6-4, 6-0.
At No. 2 singles, Krygier beat Dockal, 6-4, 6-3.
At No. 3 singles, Moran earned a 6-0, 6-1 victory against Bugnacki.
At No. 4 singles, Coffey won, 6-2, 6-2, against Lopez.
At No. 5 singles, junior Hope Rhoades (Holland, Michigan / Holland Christian) served up a 6-4, 1-6, 1-0 (5) victory against Feist.
At No. 6 singles, freshman Kaitlyn Stievater (Bloomfield Hills, Michigan / Wylie E. Groves) delivered a 6-1, 6-0 victory vs. Olivia Pandazi.
Hope wraps up the weekend on Saturday, March 1, at 6 p.m. Central at North Central College (Illinois).
