Senior Connor Vachon Leads Men's Track and Field at WashU Distance Carnival

Senior Connor Vachon posted the highest finish for the Hope College men's track and field team at the two-day Washington University in St. Louis Distance Carnival on Friday.

The meet featured runners from all three NCAA divisions and the NAIA.

Vachon (Jenison, Michigan / Jenison HS) placed 23rd in a 36-runner, 1,500-meter field by clocking a time of 3 minutes, 52.90 seconds. It was his first run in the event this outdoor season.

Six more Flying Dutchmen runners competed at WashU.

In the 5,000-meter run, sophomore Ian Petruska (Fort Collins, Colorado / Fort Collins) finished 45th in a 346-runner field after recording a time of 14:43.48. 

Freshman Logan Begeman (Portage, Michigan / Portage Central) took 79th at 15:10.37.

Hope's next meet is Friday-Saturday, April 4-5, at Grand Valley State University.
