Men's Golf Places Fifth at 36-Hole Bob Ebels Invitational

The Hope College men's golf team finished fifth at the 11-team Bob Ebels Invitational this weekend, shooting rounds at The Meadows Golf Course in Allendale of 312 on Friday and 302 on Saturday.

Aurora University (Illinois) won the 11-team, two-day event honoring Hope's most successful men's golf coach at 16-over (291-293), placing 14 strokes ahead of runner-up Wheaton College (Illinois).

Aurora's Braeden Duncan and Wheaton's Jonah Swartz topped the field of 71 golfers by tying for first at 1-over. Both carded rounds of 72 on Friday and 71 on Saturday.

The Flying Dutchmen received 7-over-par totals from senior Jack Guerrera (Northville, Michigan / Detroit Catholic Central HS) and junior Patrick Michael (Carmel, indiana / Carmel).

Guerrera posted a 72 on Saturday after a 77 on Friday. Michael went 72 on Friday and 77 on Saturday.

Junior Liam Casey (Northville, Michigan / Detroit Catholic Central) tied for 17th at 9-over (72-79).

Senior Will Webb (Lake Forest, Illinois / Lake Forest) tied for 21at at 11-over (78-75).

Senior Ben Jackson (Fort Wayne, Indiana / Carroll) tied for 31st at 15-over (80-77).

Hope's next round is Calvin's Knight Invitational on Monday, April 21, at noon at Watermark Country Club in Grand Rapids.
