Men's Golf Competes at the Knight Invite

The Hope College men's golf team placed ninth at Calvin University's Knight Invite on Monday.

The Flying Dutchmen shot a team score of 342 at Watermark Country Club in Grand Rapids.

Junior Liam Casey (Northville, Michigan / Detroit Catholic Central HS) carded a 13-over-par 84 to lead Hope and tied for 23rd individually.

The Flying Dutchmen also received 85s from senior Ben Jackson (Fort Wayne, indiana / Carroll) and freshman Will Thomas (Portage, Michigan / Portage Central), and 88s from senior Jack Guerrera  (Northville, Michigan / Detroit Catholic Central) and junior Patrick Michael (Carmel, Indiana / Carmel).

Cornerstone University and Trine University tied for first by shooting 324. Calvin's Greg Braun was the tournament medalist with a 2-over-par 73.

Hope next tees off on Friday-Saturday, April 25-26, at the Millikin University (Illinois) "Take Back the Night" 36-hole tournament at Red Tail Run and Southside Country Club in Decatur, Illinois.
