Men's Golf Ties for 10th at Millikin University Invitational

Led by two near-even-par efforts over the 36 holes, the Hope College men's golf team tied for 10th place at the Millikin University "Take Back the Night" event in Decatur, Illinois, this weekend.

Senior Will Webb (Lake Forest, Illinois / Lake Forest HS) tied for 13th place at 1-over-par after carding rounds of 2-over-par 70 at Red Trail Run Golf Course on Friday and 3-over 73 at South Side Country Club on Saturday.

Junior Liam Casey (Northville, Michigan / Detroit Catholic Central) tied for 18th at 2-over following rounds of 73 on Friday and 71 on Saturday.

Hope posted rounds of 298 on Friday and 302 on Saturday, tying Carthage College (Wisconsin) for 10th place at the 20-team event.

Fourth-ranked Illinois Wesleyan University placed first at 559 (274-285), finishing five strokes ahead of No. 19 University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire (280-284).

Freshman Will Thomas (Portage, Michigan / Portage Central) shot 77 and 79.

Sophomore Hank Roebuck (Ann Arbor, Michigan / Skyline) posted rounds of 78 and 81.

Senior Ben Jackson (Fort Wayne, Indiana / Carroll) shot 83 and 79.

The Flying Dutchmen next tee off on Wednesday-Thursday, May 7-8, at the 36-hole MIAA Spring Finale at Bella Vista Golf Course in Coldwater. Hope holds a 10-shot lead in the seasonal standings.
