Men's Golf Starts Spring Season at the Illinois Wesleyan Invitational

Senior Will Webb carded an even-par 71 at Weibring Golf Course in Normal, Illinois, on Saturday, the low round for the Hope College men's golf team at the Illinois Wesleyan University Spring Invitational.

Webb (Lake Forest, Illinois / Lake Forest HS) tied for 43rd at the 36-hole, two-day event at 7-over. He shot 7-over 79 at Ironwood Golf Course on Friday in Bloomington, Illinois.

Junior Liam Casey (Northville, Michigan / Detroit Catholic Central) also tied for 43rd at 7-over. He posted 75s on both courses.

Hope tied for 30th in the team standings at 48-over, following totals of 309 during a rainy Friday and 311 on Saturday. Fifth-ranked Illinois Wesleyan took first at 3-over following a 283 at Ironwood and a 292 at Weibring.

It was the Flying Dutchmen's first event of the spring season.

Junior Patrick Michael (Carmel, Indiana / Carmel) shot 78 at Ironwood and 82 at Weibring.

Freshman Will Thomas (Portage, Michigan / Portage Central) chipped in a 77 at Ironwood and an 83 at Weibring.

Senior Ben Jackson (Fort Wayne, Indiana / Carroll) finished with an 83 at Ironwood and a 78 at Weibring.

Sophomore Hank Roebuck (Ann Arbor, Michigan / Skyline) had an 80 at Ironwood and an 83 at Weibring.

Hope next tees off on Friday-Saturday, April 11-12, when the Flying Dutchmen host the 36-hole Bob Ebels Invitational at The Meadows Golf Course in Allendale.
