The Hope College women's tennis team showcased its tenacity during a challenging three-match weekend at the Midwest Invitational in Madison, Wisconsin, finishing with a 2-1 record. 

The Flying Dutch opened on Friday with a 5-2 loss to tournament hosts and No. 33-ranked Gustavus Adolphus, but rallied with back-to-back wins against No. 47 North Central College, 4-1, on Friday and the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, 4-3, on Saturday.

The weekend's success was marked by thrilling singles matches, as four of the team's wins came through third-set tiebreakers. Sophomore Madison Wei (Parker, Colorado / Regis Jesuit) clinched two critical victories at No. 4 singles in those decisive matches.

Hope (11-6) returns to MIAA play on Tuesday, April 8, at 4 p.m. at home against Kalamazoo College at the Vandepoel-Heeringa Stadium Courts.
