The MIAA-champion Hope College women's tennis team is headed to the Windy City this week for the NCAA Division III Tournament.
The No. 32-ranked Flying Dutch (18-6) will play in the six-team regional hosted by the University of Chicago.
On Thursday, May 8, Hope will play the University of Wisconsin-Superior in a first-round match at 10 a.m. CDT. The other opening match pits Coe College (Iowa) against North Central College (Illinois).
The Hope-Â Superior winner advances to the second round on Friday, May 9, to face No. 21-ranked Gustavus Adolphus College (Minnesota) at 10 a.m. CDT.
The Coe-North Central winner faces top-ranked Chicago.
The regional final is on Saturday, May 10, at noon CDT.
The Flying Dutch are headed to the NCAA Division III Tournament for the 13th consecutive season after winning the MIAA Tournament last week with a 4-1 victory vs. Kalamazoo College in the title match on Friday at VandePoel-Heeringa Stadium Courts. Hope also repeated as MIAA regular-season champion this season with an 8-0 league record.
Wisconsin Superior (21-5) won the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Tournament by serving up a 4-1 victory vs. Greenville College (Illinois) in Minneapolis. This is the Yellowjackets' first NCAA Tournament appearance.
Admission is free. The University of Chicago's Stagg Tennis Courts are located on the corner of 56th Street and Cottage Grove Avenue.
Parking is available in any University of Chicago lot, including the large Ellis Avenue parking garage on the corner of 55th Street and Ellis Avenue, directly across the street from the Ratner Athletic Center. There is an hourly fee for parking in this garage. Street parking is also available around the facility.
