Five Chosen for Academic All-District® Men’s Track and Field/Cross Country Teams

Five Hope College student-athletes have been named to the 2025 Academic All-District® Men's Track and Field/Cross Country teams, selected by College Sports Communicators: seniors Alex Daniels, Lucas Guidone, Tyler King, and Connor Vachon, and junior Erickson Kunzler.

The program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes women's track and field honorees in four divisions: NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members and announced later this summer.

Daniels (Holland, Michigan / Holland HS) was an exercise science major. The senior helped the Flying Dutchmen's 4x400 relay finish runner-up at the MIAA Indoor Championships in February while taking fourth in both the 60 and 200 meters.

Guidone (Chicago, Illinois / Taft) was a biochemistry and molecular biology major. The senior claimed USTFCCCA All-Great Lakes Region accolades during the indoor season in the 800-meter run at the distance medley relay. King also ran cross country.

King (Villa Park, Illinois / Willowbrook) was a biochemistry and molecular biology major. The senior helped the Flying Dutchmen win the distance medley relay at the MIAA Indoor Championships and placed seventh in the 1,500 meters at the MIAA Outdoor Championships.  King also ran cross country.

Kunzler (Marne, Michigan / Grand Rapids Catholic Central) is an exercise science major. The junior earned USTFCCCA All-Great Lakes Region distinction in three events: outdoor 800-meter run, indoor 800-meter run and the indoor distance medley relay.

Vachon (Jenison, Michigan / Jenison) was a secondary education major, focusing on computer science and mathematics. The senior claimed USTFCCCA All-Great Lakes Region honors in all three seasons: cross country, indoor track in the 1 mile and outdoor track in the 1,500 meters. Vachon helped the Flying Dutchmen qualify for cross country nationals for the first time since 1990.

The Division III CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Division III Academic All-America® programs.
