Hope College setter Lauren Lee has been selected as the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Women's Volleyball Specialist of the Week for the first time this season and the ninth time in her career.
The senior from Plymouth, Michigan (Skyline) led the 18th-ranked Flying Dutch to a 5-0 record last week during matches in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Washington, D.C.
Lee averaged 10.69 assists, 2.38 digs and 1.0 kills per set over matches at No. 22 Camegie Mellon University and a four-team tournament at Gallaudet University against the University of California, Santa Cruz, Gallaudet, Franklin and Marshall College (Pennsylvania) and Whittier College (California).
The biology major was named the MVP of Gallaudet's Kim Worthington Classic.
Hope (9-4) next plays on Friday-Saturday, Sept. 26-27, at DeVos Fieldhouse. The Flying Dutch will face 11th-ranked Marietta College (Ohio) on Friday at 7 p.m. and No. 10 Illinois Wesleyan University on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
