The Hope College women's golf team delivered a steady start to the opening day of the Kyle Campbell Memorial Tournament.
The Flying Dutch carded a team score of 340, good for fourth place out of 16 teams after the first round on Friday afternoon at The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall, Mich.
Senior Sara Muir (Ada, Michigan / Grand Rapids Christian HS) led the way for Hope with a 9-over-par 81, placing her in a tie for eighth overall.
Junior Allyson Zuidema (Northville, Mich. / Northville) followed close behind with an 83 for a share of 14th place.
Junior Jaiden Winters (New Carlisle, Ind. / New Prairie) opened her tournament with an 85 to tie for 20th.
Junior Rachael Jones (Grove City, Ohio / Grove City) matched Winters with an 85 to share 20th place.
Junior Kylie Gernaat (Kalamazoo, Mic. / Kalamazoo Christian) turned in a 90 for 40th overall.
Freshman Anelise Gatti (Brighton, Mich. / Brighton) posted a 91 to tie for 44th, and senior Caydee Constant (Grand Haven, Mich. / Grand Haven)rounded out Hope's scoring five with a 96, tied for 63rd.
Hope is back on the course to conclude the Kyle Campbell Memorial Tournament on Saturday, Sept. 6, with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
