Nine Named to All-MIAA Men's Indoor Track and Field Teams

Nine Hope College men's track and field standouts claimed spots on the 2026 All-MIAA Men's Indoor Track and Field teams.

Seven earned All-MIAA First Team recognition: seniors Carston Cole and Erickson Kunzler; juniors Carter Dean, Ian Petruska, and Dylan Terpstra; sophomore Kevin Barifagok; and freshman Aiden Moore.

Two made the All-MIAA Second Team: sophomore Elias Kretchmar and freshman Lincoln Phillips.

Terpstra (Hudsonville, Michigan / Hudsonville) struck for a gold medal in the 400 meters. The communication major posted a winning time of 49.15 seconds.

Barifagok (Las Vegas, Nevada / Cristo Rey Saint Victor) won gold in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 7.61 seconds and earned silver in the 400 meters.

Moore (Battle Creek, Michigan / Lakeview) captured gold in the mile, posting a run of 4:13.94.

Cole (Holland, Michigan / West Ottawa), Kunzler (Marne, Michigan / Grand Rapids Catholic Central), Dean (Traverse City, Michigan / Traverse City West), and Petruska (Fort Collins, Colorado / Fort Collins) struck for gold in the distance medley relay by clocking a MIAA meet-record time of 10:26.51.

Cole and Kunzler major in exercise science. Petruska is a business major. Dean majors in sociology major with a criminal justice emphasis.

Kunzler also earned bronze in the 800 meters.

Kretchmar, a mechanical engineering major from Granville, Ohio (Granville), claimed silver in the 3,000 meters.

Phillips (Dorr, Michigan / Hamilton) placed runner-up in the heptathlon and the long jump.
