Josh Bordovsky Swims to All-America Accolades in the 200 Individual Medley

Hope College swimmer Josh Bordovsky claimed Second Team All-America honors and lowered his school record in the 200-yard individual medley on Wednesday, on the first day of the NCAA Division III Championships in Indianapolis.

During the consolation finals, Bordovsky (Herndon, Virginia / South Lakes) clocked a 13th-place time of 1:48.10 at the Indiana University Natatorium.

Bordovsky went 1:47.88 during the morning prelims, lowering his school record from the 1:48.85 he posted at the MIAA Championships in February.

It is the mathematics major's second Second Team All-America selection and first in an individual event. He competed on last season's 12th-place 400 medley relay.

On Wednesday, Bordovsky also swam the first leg of Hope's 400 medley relay that finished 19th, teaming with junior Christian Hoeksema (Holland, Michigan / Holland Christian), junior Graham Eisenmann (Ozark, Missouri / Ozark) and sophomore Everett Cox (Sugar Land, Texas / Logos Prep) for a time of 3:18.56.

In the 50 freestyle, sophomore George Marsh (Bloomfield Hills, Michigan / Birmingham Seaholm) tied for 35th by recording a swim of 20.43 during prelims.

Day 2 of the four-day meet will be held Thursday, March 19, with 10 a.m. prelims and 6 p.m. finals. Hope is tied for 28th place with four points.

Eisenmann will race in the 100 butterfly. The Flying Dutchmen will also compete in the 200 freestyle relay.
