Men's Track and Field Clocks Five PRs at WashU Distance Carnival

The Hope College men's track and field team clocked five personal-best times during the Washington University in St. Louis Distance Carnival on Thursday and Friday.

Four Flying Dutchmen recorded their top efforts in the 5,000 meters and one did in the 10,000 meters.

In the 10,000 meters, sophomore Noah Norris (Ann Arbor, Michigan / Washtenaw Academy) led Hope with a personal-best run of 31 minutes, 29.79 seconds. He finished 58th.

In the 5,000 meters, freshman Elijah Forbord (Howell, Michigan / Brighton) topped the Flying Dutchmen with a 31st-place time of 14:38.44.

Four of Hope's next six finishers posted PRs: sophomore Elias Kretchmar, sophomore Cooper Jacobsen, senior Chad Perrine and junior Luke Skuratowicz.

Kretchmar (Granville, Ohio / Granville) took 37th at 14:42.96. Senior Carston Cole (Holland, Michigan / West Ottawa) placed next in 99th at 15:06.20.

Jacobsen (Grand Rapids, Michigan / Forest Hills Eastern) went 15:09.23 for 110th. Perrine (Jackson, Michigan / Jackson) finished 15:23.27 for 153rd. Senior Nile Devers (Gobles, Michigan / Gobles) ran 15:29.29 for 176th,

Skuratowicz (Kalamazoo, Michigan / Kalamazoo Central) posted 15:31.18 for 187th.

In the 800 meters, senior Erickson Kunzler (Marne, Michigan / Grand Rapids Catholic Central) delivered Hope's highest finish with a 19th-place effort of 1:52.80.

Hope next competes on Saturday, March 28, at the WashU Invite.
