Dylan Terpstra Wins Men's 400 Meters at Wartburg Final Qualifier

Hope College junior Dylan Terpstra topped a field of nine runners to win the 400 meters this weekend during the two-day Wartburg University Final Qualifier in Waverly, Iowa.

Terpstra (Hudsonville, Michigan / Hudsonville) posted a run of 48.60 seconds to edge Dylan Parker's season-best effort for Carthage College of 48.76.

The meet was the Flying Dutchmen's final before the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships national qualifiers are announced.

Hope finished in the Top 5 in three more events.

In the 5,000 meters, freshman Elijah Forbord (Howell, Michigan / Brighton) clocked a third-place time of 14:39.53.

In the 60 meters, freshman Maurice Streeter (Kalamazoo, Michigan / Kalamazoo Central) took fourth in the finals by recording a run of 6.88 seconds.

In the distance medley relay, senior Erickson Kunzler (Marne, Michigan / Grand Rapids Catholic Central), freshman Aiden Moore (Battle Creek, Michigan / Lakeview), sophomore Elias Kretchmar (Granville, Ohio / Granville), and freshman Luke Bellino (Brighton, Michigan / Brighton) finished fifth at 9:58.42.
