Three Qualify for NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships

The meet runs Friday-Saturday, March 13-14, in Birmingham, Alabama

Three runners will represent Hope College at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships this weekend at the Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Alabama.

Seniors Sara Schermerhorn and Molly Durow will race during the women's meet, while junior Dylan Terpstra will run in the men's meet.

For each women's individual event contested, the top 20 declared student-athletes were accepted into the championships.

Schermerhorn (Traverse City, Michigan / Traverse City) is scheduled to race in preliminaries on Friday at 4:05 p.m. in the 400 meters and 5:15 p.m. in the 200 meters. The exercise science major is making her fourth trip to indoor nationals and already is a four-time Indoor All-American. Schermerhorn finished seventh in the 400 as a junior and a sophomore and ninth in the 200 meters last season and 11th in 2024.

Durow (Glenview, Illinois / GlenbrookSouth) is slated to run in the mile prelims on Friday at 3:35 p.m. This is the first trip to nationals for the elementary education major.

Terpstra (Hudsonville, Michigan / Hudsonville) is scheduled to race in the 400-meter prelims on Friday at 5:35 p.m. This is the communication major's first trip to nationals.
