Women's Golf and Lacrosse Standouts Claim Academic All-District Accolades

They were selected by the College Sports Communicators organization

Six Hope College student-athletes have been chosen for the 2025-26 Academic All-District Women's At-Large Teams, selected by the College Sports Communicators organization: defender Caroline Curnutt and midfielders Ireland Brown, Sydney LaPrairie, and Caleigh Randall in lacrosse; and Rachael Jones and Jaiden Winters in golf.

Eligible at-large nominees must be at least sophomores academically and athletically and carry a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher. The women's at-large division featured 13 sports that did not reach the team participation threshold for their own category.

Women's lacrosse nominees must have competed in 90 percent of the institution's games played or must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games. Women's golf nominees must be in the lineup for 75 percent of an institution's team scoring events or in the lineup at the conference championship tournament.

The women's lacrosse recipients helped the Flying Dutch win their first game in the NCAA Tournament and become MIAA regular-season and tournament champions for a league-record fourth consecutive season. Hope set a school record for single-season victories after finishing with a 15-4 record.

Brown is a first-time Academic All-District honoree. The sophomore elementary education major from DeWitt, Michigan (DeWitt), recorded career-highs with 21 goals, 13 assists, 37 ground balls, and 22 caused turnovers while claiming All-MIAA Second Team accolades.

Curnutt repeated as an Academic All-District selection. The senior elementary education major from Fishers, Indiana (Heritage Christian), collected a career-high 27 ground balls this season and was named the MIAA's Most Valuable Defensive Player.

LaPrairie garnered Academic All-District accolades for the second time in her career. The senior nursing major from Rochester, Michigan (Stoney Creek), contributed 27 goals and a career-high 14 assists this season.

Randall claimed Academic All-District honors for the second consecutive season. The senior elementary education major was chosen for the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association All-Great Lakes Region and All-MIAA First Teams while collecting 32 goals, eight assists, and career-bests 44 ground balls and 25 caused turnovers.

Jones is a first-time Academic All-District recipient. The junior mechanical engineering major averaged 77.33 strokes over 108 holes of MIAA competition this season, finishing fifth among league golfers.

Winters earned Academic All-District accolades for the first time. The junior nursing major posted an 80.83 average during MIAA play, tying for 12th in the league standings.
